Teaser: A Boy Like You by Ginger Scott

A Boy Like You by Ginger Scott.
Audience/Genre: New Adult,Contemporary Romance.
Publication: March 3rd 2017.
They say everyone’s a superhero to someone. I’m not sure who I’m supposed to save, but I know who saved me.

We were kids. His name was Christopher. And up until the day he pulled me from death’s grip, he was nothing more than a boy I felt sorry for. In a
blink of an eye, he became the only person who made me feel safe.

And then he disappeared.

Now I’m seventeen. I’m not a kid anymore. I haven’t been for years. While death didn’t take me that day, the things that happened left me with
scars—the kind that robbed me of everything I once loved and drove me into darkness. But more than anything else, that day—and every day since—has taken away my desire to dream.

I wasn’t going to have hope. I wouldn’t let myself wish. Those things—they weren’t for girls like me. That’s what I believed…until the new boy.

He’s nothing like the old boy. He’s taller and older. His hair is longer,
and his body is lean—strong and ready for anything. I don’t feel sorry for
him. And sometimes, I hate him. He challenges me. From the moment I first saw him standing there on the baseball field, he pushed me—his eyes
constantly questioning, doubting…daring. Still, something about him—it
feels…familiar.

He says his name is Wes. But I can’t help but feel like he’s someone else.
Someone from my past. Someone who’s come back to save me.

This time, though, he’s too late. Josselyn Winters, the girl he once knew,
is gone. I am the threat; I am my worst enemy. And he can’t save me from myself.

Ginger Scott is an Amazon-bestselling and Goodreads Choice Award-nominated author of several young and new adult romances, including Waiting on the Sidelines, Going Long, Blindness, How We Deal With Gravity, This Is Falling, You and Everything After, The Girl I Was Before, Wild Reckless, Wicked Restless and In Your Dreams.

Tour & Giveaway: Dawn Study (Soulfinders #3) by Maria V. Snyder

Tour Schedule

Dawn Study (Soulfinders #3) by Maria V. Snyder.
Audience/Genre: Adult, Fantasy.
Publication: January 31st 2017 by Mira Books.
New York Times bestselling author Maria V. Snyder brings her Poison Study series to its exhilarating conclusion.

Despite the odds, Yelena and Valek have forged an irrevocable bond and a family that transcends borders. Now, when their two homelands stand on the brink of war, they must fight with magic and cunning to thwart an Ixian plot to invade Sitia.

Yelena seeks to break the hold of the insidious Theobroma that destroys a person's resistance to magical persuasion. But the Cartel is determined to keep influential citizens and Sitian diplomats in thrall and Yelena at bay. With every bounty hunter after her, Yelena is forced to make a dangerous deal.

With might and magic, Valek peels back the layers of betrayal surrounding the Commander. At its rotten core lies a powerful magician and his latest discovery. The fate of all rests upon two unlikely weapons. One may turn the tide. The other could spell the end of everything.

Reviewed by Kelly.

This series is unlike any other! The main couple, whom I absolutely adore, have the normal arguments and normal issues that other couples have but they know when to apologize and know how to let go and have faith in the other! Their extended family gets even larger in this book. There is a lot of mercy and bonding! No one is left behind. This is the last book in the series and I have to say that I am sad to see it end but the ending had everything I wanted to see. Please have kleenex handy towards the end, you will need it!

I want to talk about more but it would be a spoiler to do so! But the book it utterly genius in the teamwork and love and twists of plots going on! There are several points of views. There are several times many are at the brink of death and many times that I thought there would be no hope and waiting for death to come. Not gonna tell you who dies (there are bad guys too), you have to read it yourself.

There is a breed of horse called Sandseed. They are sort of magical in themselves. I love to hear them talk to another person who has magic. Yelena has been without her magic since the last book and I have been dying to see if she would ever be able to talk to her horse, Kiki, again! I love the way the horses think!

For those who want more of the contents of the books, there is lots of violence and death. There is a war getting ready to be engaged and the good guys want to stop it before it starts! The characters are all complex, some have magic. It took me a week to read it when it normally takes me a day to gobble up a book. There was a lot going on! There is talk of being intimate but it is behind closed door between a married couple. No language!

You also need to check out the other blogs in the tour because they have character interviews( I love it) and excerpts and other fun stuff!

You really should read this series and the glass series and the healer series! If you like complex series, a smidge of romance, families, assassins, magic, babies, wars, multiple points of views, sarcasm, wit, humor and a story that can bring you to tears a the end than go not further this is it!

Maria V. Snyder changed from being a meteorologist to a novelist in 1995, when she began writing to keep her sanity while raising two children. Since then, she has published numerous freelance articles in magazines and newspapers, and teaches fiction-writing classes at the local college and area libraries. The classes give her the wonderful opportunity to encourage fellow writers, and to keep improving her craft.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Maria always had a fascination with big storms. Dreaming of chasing tornados, Maria earned a bachelors of science degree in meteorology at Penn State University. But she discovered, much to her chagrin, that forecasting the weather wasn't one of her skills. In order to chase tornados you had to predict where they might form. Creating fantasy worlds where she has complete control of the weather was more agreeable to her.

Maria's research on food-tasting methods with an expert chocolate taster, her husband, turned out to be a delicious bonus while writing Poison Study.

Maria has a brown belt in Isshinryu Karate, and enjoys playing volleyball and the cello. Traveling in general and via cruise ship in particular are her biggest distractions from writing. Maria has traveled to Belize, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean and through the Panama Canal.

Tour & GIveaway: Fading Into the Shadows by Kelly Hashway

Fading Into the Shadows by Kelly Hashway.
Audience/Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy.
Publication: January 16th 2017.
When sixteen-year-old Ella Andrews’s best friend, Avery, goes missing, she’ll do anything to get him back—starting with punching the no-brain cop who couldn’t care less about the disappearance.

Ella’s convinced Avery’s been kidnapped, and she tries everything to find him—even following a strange shadow to another world where the constellations are real-life figures in the sky. But three star groups have fallen and are destroying the world.

The fallen constellations are not the only enemy. Melanie, the princess of Stellaris, is forcing Ella, Avery, and an army of other kids kidnapped from their world to fight the rogue constellations, even as the land is draining away their life. The longer they stay, the more they fade into substanceless shadows—a fate worse than death.

Can Ella save Stellaris before there’s nothing left of her and Avery?

I had to figure out what this place was and find someone who could help me get home. I had no clue if Avery was really here either, but I wasn’t going to find out staying in one spot.
Keeping my head down to shield my eyes from the sun, I climbed over the boulders to an area filled with bare trees. If it were winter, this wouldn’t have been weird. But it was July. The trees should’ve been green and full of leaves. These trees were blackened like they’d been burned. I looked up at their singed branches and saw an enormous pair of eyes staring back at me.
“Oh!” I stumbled backward, tripping over a pointed rock, and did the exact opposite of a belly flop onto a large boulder. My spine felt like someone had taken a hammer to it, but I was grateful I hadn’t hit my head. I sat up slowly, and that’s when I noticed the sky. Or should I say, the sky noticed me?
Even though it was night, the stars weren’t twinkling lights shining down on me. They were actual living, breathing forms. All the constellations were figures in the sky. Solid figures. A bull, which I guessed was Taurus. A goat for Capricorn. And some other constellations that weren’t exactly alive but were still objects, a crown or a shield, instead of stars. I stared at them in amazement. Sure stars were beautiful and I watched them every night before I fell asleep, but this was seriously awesome. As a kid, I always daydreamed about playing in the clouds, and it kind of looked like that was what these constellations were doing here. I forced my eyes to get used to the brightness as I studied the figures.
By the arrow pointing in my direction, I knew it was Sagittarius, the archer, staring at me through the branches of the tree. He held his bow firmly, but he smiled at me. I couldn’t help staring at him. I’d seen pictures of centaurs in Greek mythology books and in movies, but that was nothing compared to seeing this larger than life image hovering above me in the heavens. Sagittarius had thick, dark wavy hair and a beard that perfectly matched his long flowing tail. He looked like he was solid muscle, both his human upper body and his horse lower half.
He raised his right hoof slightly in front of him, and I got the impression he was trying to wave to me. I wasn’t about to offend a guy pointing an arrow at me, so I gave a small wave in return. I checked out the rest of the sky. Amazing! Like someone plucked creatures and people and other things right off the ground and placed them in the sky. I was so mesmerized by the constellations that the sound of rocks falling behind me didn’t register as possible danger until it got so loud I knew I was in trouble. Something was coming toward me. Something big.

Read a Sneak Peek:

My normally quiet nature seemed to take a backseat when it came to this guy. He made me angry, flustered, and… something else I couldn’t put my finger on.

Annoyed maybe?

No, that wasn’t it.

“What is your problem?” I blurted out, chasing behind him.

“My problem?” he asked, spinning around to face me.

Suddenly, he was too close. I could feel his breath on my face, his presence looming over me.

I took a step back.

He seemed to notice the unease settle around me, and a bit of the edge he carried chipped away.

His next words were said with a slightly softer quality. “Look, maybe we got off on the wrong foot. I didn’t mean to sound so harsh, but if the store doesn’t do well, it’s on me. My dad thinks it’s a waste of time.”

“And you don’t?”

I didn’t know what a rich, popular kid wanted with an old bookstore, but I kept my mouth shut.

He shrugged. “We have nothing in this crummy town, not even a movie theater. Last month, I wanted to see the new Marvel movie, and my friends and I had to drive thirty minutes away just to see it.”

“Haven’t you ever heard of Netflix?” I asked.

“It’s not the same as seeing it on the big screen.”

“I wouldn’t know,” I replied.

“What?” He grinned. “You’ve never been to a movie?”

The way he said it was meant as a joke, but all laughter died when I shook my head.

“Seriously?”

“I mean, I’ve watched several on TV but never at a theater,” I answered, not able to meet his stare.

“I thought you were from the city.”

My eyes flew up to his.

“Oh, so you really did think you were invisible. That doesn’t work around here, Mittens.”

My brows furrowed as I tried to figure out what he meant until he pointed to my gloves.

Mittens.

Cute.

“My name is Willow,” I corrected.

Sam just kept smiling.

“Word of advice, Mittens. The less you try to be invisible, the less interested people will be.”

I let out a heavy sigh, snatching the remainder of the books from the counter.

As he’d reminded me earlier, I wasn’t being paid to mess around.

And I sure as hell didn’t need life lessons from an over privileged daddy’s boy.

I hated this place.

This riveting fantasy is full of action, adventure, and romance. Suspenseful and exhilarating!

The world building in this story is so easy to see in my mind's eye. There is so much action, suspense and romance that you find yourself sitting on the edge of your seat to see what will happen next.

I'm not into more than one person as the love interest. I'm happen to report, it isn't really.

This is a great story of good vs. evil. There is always lies mixed with the truth and sometimes you don't know whom to trust!

There is a twist that I didn't see coming and i need the next book to see what comes next and who will win the next battle and maybe even someone else having their own romance???

If you like stories of action, fantasy, finding romance, characters who have super powers but also have flaws like those of us who don't have super powers, then this might be for you!

I just need to see how this turns out!!!

For years she has looked forward starting her life as a member of the Coimirceoirí and she is thrilled to discover that she has been chosen as the Academy Apprentice of her year. But despite the fact that she has been longing to go to Séreméla and work with the Elders, it soon becomes apparent that her fate isn’t as rosy as it appears to be. First, she is paired up with a grumpy male apprentice from Stone Mountain, Weylon Forborrow. Second, it doesn’t take her long to discover that the Elders are not taking her to Séreméla, as tradition dictates. Instead, Weylon and her are sent to The Rift, a dead land tainted with evil. Even before they join the Elder royalty at Tèarmann, an ancient fortress on the cusp of the Rift, Brijit discovers that the Elders are hiding too many things. She is given the task of helping the Princess in birthing the long awaited Queen of the Elders but nothing is as it seems. There is talk of an old and forgotten Prophecy, Weylon is attacked by a creature from the Rift and her grandmother is killed, after revealing a secret that rocks everything Brijit knows about her past. Soon Brijit questions everything she had been led to believe and, worse, she realizes that the future of Séreméla and all of Five Corners is in jeopardy, unless she can find a way to save it!

Guest Post: Playlist

The music I listen to when I write really depends on what project I’m working on. Generally, I am very influenced by music as a mood setter. When I’m writing fantasy stories, I tend to lean towards Dargaard and similar instrumental music.
My daughter put me onto 8Tracks lately though. And if you type in writing or novel writing all these incredible playlists come up. So I’ve been listening to a lot of those lately. And discovering a ton of great must that really sets the mood for writing. ☺

Book Teaser #1Brijit Carnesîr never trusted the Elders completely but as the female Chosen Coimirceoirí of her year she is expected to work with them. Then she stumbles upon information that changes everything. Nothing that she expected from the Elders is actually going to happen and most of what she has believed her entire life is revealed as fallacy. Not knowing whom she can trust or what her own purpose might be, Brijit finds herself stuck with the sullen male Chosen Coimirceoirí, Weylon Forborrow, someone she clearly has nothing in common with. As the Elder Knights lead them further and further into the unknown lands West of the Academy, Brijitfinds herself having to make the chose to trust Weylon or carry on alone. When her rooms are ransacked she suddenly has no choice left. She has to trust Weylon or risk her own safety. Book Teaser #2Brijit Carnesîr is the Chosen female Coimirceoirí of her year. It is something she has been dreaming about for the last sixyears. But her dreams didn’t include Elder secrets, dying forests and an oozing evil that threatens the very existence of Five Corners. The answers lie in an untranslatable Prophecy that the Elders control. And Brijit, along with her Coimirceoirí partner, Weylon, are left searching for answers from the very people whom they are supposed to be protecting.
