A Boy Like You by Ginger Scott.
Audience/Genre: New Adult,Contemporary Romance.
Publication: March 3rd 2017.
They say everyone’s a superhero to someone. I’m not sure who I’m supposed to save, but I know who saved me.

We were kids. His name was Christopher. And up until the day he pulled me from death’s grip, he was nothing more than a boy I felt sorry for. In a
blink of an eye, he became the only person who made me feel safe.

And then he disappeared.

Now I’m seventeen. I’m not a kid anymore. I haven’t been for years. While death didn’t take me that day, the things that happened left me with
scars—the kind that robbed me of everything I once loved and drove me into darkness. But more than anything else, that day—and every day since—has taken away my desire to dream.

I wasn’t going to have hope. I wouldn’t let myself wish. Those things—they weren’t for girls like me. That’s what I believed…until the new boy.

He’s nothing like the old boy. He’s taller and older. His hair is longer,
and his body is lean—strong and ready for anything. I don’t feel sorry for
him. And sometimes, I hate him. He challenges me. From the moment I first saw him standing there on the baseball field, he pushed me—his eyes
constantly questioning, doubting…daring. Still, something about him—it
feels…familiar.

He says his name is Wes. But I can’t help but feel like he’s someone else.
Someone from my past. Someone who’s come back to save me.

This time, though, he’s too late. Josselyn Winters, the girl he once knew,
is gone. I am the threat; I am my worst enemy. And he can’t save me from myself.

Review

Oh my gosh!! I don't know what it is about Ginger Scott's writing but it is mesmerizing! I can't stop once I start. Her characters are real and raw and go through awful things that are painful and sad! And I can't get enough of it!

I did hate the ending! Because, it leaves you hanging and I have to wait till the next book just when things were maybe looking up!?!

Joss is a force to be reckoned with! She is a girl without a mom and a father who is the school baseball coach by day and a drunk by night. He doesn't really have anything to do with his own daughter after Joss's mother left them both for another man and never looked back. She plays baseball too but her father doesn't really seem to acknowledge it. She is a risk taker and talks like a sailor. She lives on a whim. Her friends are Taryn, who plays ball with her and is her best friend and Kyle who enables her dark side and gets her drunk and lets her live on the wild side.

When Wes shows up at her high school playing for her father's baseball team Joss knows there is something familiar about him. She falls for him and for once feels like a girl and not a tomboy. He always seems to catch her when she falls, but he never gets hurt in the process. I think there is a little paranormal to this book but will have to wait till the next one to see.

I love the relationship Wes and Joss have. They aren't lovey dovey but have a real talking relationship with normal ups and downs. But they get each other and I love it!

I can't praise this book enough! I can't wait for the next one and I will always be a fan of Ginger scott! I love the wit, sarcasm and realism of the book. I love the relationships! I really need the next one right now because I want to see how everyone fares, not just the main characters. I'm invested in all of them.

After the end, she writes a little about her research and who she talked to about it. If you like life altering accidents, some how not getting hurt, baseball, failing parenthood and trying to fix it, then you might like this book.

It has language, and intimate moments described.
