Imagine falling in love with a man, then finding out he was a killer...TRU BLUE is a sexy, dark stand-alone novel written in the same loving, raw, and emotional voice romance readers have come to love, and the deeply emotional literary prose women's fiction readers have come to expect, from New York Times & USA Today bestselling, award-winning author Melissa Foster.

"Several emotional topics -- such as drug addiction, abandonment, infertility and unexpectedly becoming a parent -- are easily woven together without making the story feel crowded or overdone. Foster writes exceptional characters that keep readers thinking long after the book is finished... The dynamic members of the Whiskey family are the foundation that holds the group together and they are exactly the reason we're taught not to judge. Let's hope we hear more from all of them!" RT Book Reviews

"Sexy and Heartbreaking....I simply adored this beautifully written romance." Tasty Book PR

"Ms. Foster, went for the gut with Truman and Gemma. Tru Blue is more than a romance, it is a story of love, a story of hope and a story of courage. 10 + stars." Night Owl Reviews

"With her wonderful characters and resonating emotions, Melissa Foster is a must-read author!" New York Times Bestseller Julie Kenner

"Melissa Foster is synonymous with sexy, swoony, heartfelt romance!" New York Times Bestseller Lauren Blakely

King of the Friend Zone (Power of the Matchmaker) by Sheralyn Pratt

King of the Friend Zone (Power of the Matchmaker) by Sheralyn Pratt.
Audience/Genre: Clean Read, Romance.
Publication: August 29th 2016 by Wicked Sassy.
Esme Taylor has an amazing fiancé, a lifelong best friend, and a problem. The problem stems from the fact that her best friend is named Hunter and, well. . .he’s kind of (totally) hot. It’s hate at first sight when her fiancé, Jon, and Hunter meet. Jon’s convinced that Hunter is in love with Esme, and that Hunter must be out of the picture if their upcoming marriage is to succeed.

Esme thinks Jon is paranoid.

The truth is, Jon’s not that far off. Hunter is in love with his best friend and always has been. What Jon has wrong, however, is that Hunter never had any plans of ruining Esme’s happily ever after. Hunter wants what’s best for Esme, even if that’s not him.

When Jon pushes hard to end Esme and Hunter’s friendship, opposition comes from the most unlikely of places. It’s an eccentric lady with a cookie cart who suggests a different solution to Esme’s problem: Hunter and Esme should give each other a chance.

They’ve both thought of the possibility over the years—of course they have. But with a ring already on Esme’s finger and a heap of hurt feelings and broken trust in the mix, there hasn’t been a worse time to explore the depths of their feelings for each other.

Both Esme and Hunter think it’s time to move on and leave childhood crushes in the past. The question is: Can one woman and the taste of one cookie change their minds?

Note to Reader: This book is a "clean" read with mainstream values and minor language.

This was a cute twist of the friend to lover’s trope! The chemistry was perfect. I liked how they showed flaws in the characters that affected what they do with their lives. And of course, I always enjoy seeing Ms Pearl! She just brings it all together with her words of wisdom!

When Jon proposes to Esme in her favorite place, Esme accepts. It was a little fast and she hasn’t yet introduced him to her family and her best friends Grace and Hunter. Jon doesn’t like Hunter and gets Esme to pretty much not have any contact with him ever again. When he explains why to Esme, she can see his point. Jon however never sees Esme’s point. In fact, I don’t like him at all. He gives me the creeps. But Esme is a crisis management PR person and yet she doesn’t know what to do without Hunter in her life. She has known him since before she could talk. They text every day and she competes with him on their fit bit. Esme also keeps track of the calls Hunter goes on as a firefighter. Without him, things don’t go as well.

Hunter has always loved Esme but never acted on it in fear of losing his friendship with her. So when at her engagement party Hunter toasts to them with his hurt ego, he lets it out that he has always loved her and chose him. Then he leaves and cuts off all communication with her. It’s a total mess after that.

Miss Pearl has many aha moments in this book. They are always enlightening and sometimes profound.

If you like Crisis management, helping out foster kids, being a hero, dyslexia, very little description of gun violence, taking the leap and loving someone, boxing, firemen, then this might be for you!

Blog Tour & GIveaway: Ella's Will by Jessilyn Stewart Peaslee

Tour Schedule

Ella's Will by Jessilyn Stewart Peaslee.
Audience/Genre: Fairytale Retellings, Clean Read, Romance.
Publication: September 1st 2016 by Sweetwater Books.
Will Hawkins is just a simple stable boy. How can he hope to woo Ella, his once-wealthy childhood friend who is stubbornly independent, especially when his competition is the prince? Without any magic or fairy godmothers, Will must show Ella that he is her true prince charming in this perspective twist of the Cinderella story.

Reviewed by Kelly.

This is hands down the best Cinderella retelling I have ever read! The twist to it is genius! The main characters were so selfless that I cried my eyes out over them!

I thought this would be a love triangle, but it’s not. You know how stories go where boy meets girl they fall in love but something happens that they have a falling out and then get back together? That is not how this book works. Ella and Will are two people who are selfless and sacrificing for each other. Will has known Ella since her father took him in and treated him like a son instead of just a stable boy.

Ella has a wicked stepmother and has 2 rude stepsisters. Ella carries no anger but she is hurt over her treatment in her own home. She is very strong and independent. As she watches her step family run through the money and make her their servant, she stays there to take care of her home where her memories are still alive when her father was alive.
Will sees that she is independent. He wants to take her away but he has nothing to offer her except a home that is small and not well built and where he sleeps on a small cushioned bed on the floor and some horses.

So, when the prince returns and wants to take a commoner for a wife and choose her from a ball at the palace, Will knows the prince will fall for her and plans for her to go. He wants the prince to marry her so she can have a better life. But as the time gets closer, his moments of time with her become more difficult. He loves her and he is jealous. But he will do whatever will bring her happiness over the conditions she lives in.

But still, I was a stable worker. And horses were horses, work was work, sweat was sweat, and dirt was dirt.

"I guess she lost a shoe and he's planning to find her by trying the shoe on all the maidens in the kingdom." "What kind of idiotic plan is that?"

If you love retellings, a Prince who is charming, horses, glass slippers, selflessness, sacrifices, broken hearts, and finding lasting love than this might be for you!

There is more action, more characters, a new threat, and a fatality in this edition of the series. You will have to read it to find out if the fatality is a foe or friend!

Morgan is growing in her powers. Jackson is still reluctant to be the new Chief one day. The humor is plentiful with Jimmy and Hawthorne. There is a new creature too. I can’t wait to see what happens with it!!

The romance takes a back seat in this edition with all the fighting and plotting. I kind of missed it though!

Blitz & Giveaway: Ruin by Clarissa Wild

(The Limited Edition cover version is only in Paperback and can be purchased here

Ruin by Clarissa Wild.
Audience/Genre: New Adult, Romance.
Publication: September 20th 2016.
Maybell Fairweather was the girl of my dreams.

Always smiling brightly, she kept going, despite the names her classmates called her behind her back.
She was full of curiosity and independence, the extent of which I could only be jealous of. Even though she had all odds stacked against her, she knew what she wanted from life and pursued it, no matter the cost.

She was completely my opposite in every way.
Perfect, even though she couldn’t see it.
Perfect … until me.

Because this is the story of how I ruined her.

Based on a true story. Standalone Romance. No cliffhanger.

As I walk out of the classroom door, I look through all the tiny little windows that line the wall of the gym class.
By accident, of course.
Obviously not because I know dance classes started there twenty minutes ago.
And most definitely not because I see her make a few twirls in a costume.
Every step I take is slower than the previous until I’m sauntering as slow as a snail. Because I’m tired, of course.
My hand touches the wall as my eyes refuse to let go of the image in front of me.
The way she swishes through the air, her feet light as feathers as they barely touch the ground. How her fingers twitch, and her lips pout while she performs the moves. The little quirks that are barely noticeable, yet clearly there, and the grace with which she presents herself.
It has me completely enraptured.
So much so that I stumble over the first step of the stairs I forgot were there in the middle of the hallway.
Some girls pass me by, giggling behind their hands as I compose myself, my face glowing bright red.
They probably saw me looking, dammit.
I throw my backpack over my shoulder and run up the stairs, walking as far away from the gym as I possibly can until I find a table and chair in a corner of the school, which is where I sit down and stare ahead.
I watch the students come and go, none of them her.
Not that it matters. I shouldn’t even be thinking about her. It’s not like I could ever come close.
Like I’d ever be good enough for someone like her.
So I grab my books and throw them on the table, determined to finally not go home without having done my homework.
Ten minutes later, I’m completely frozen in place.
Not because of what I just read.
But because I smell her perfume … And when I look up and see her patched-up Pucca bag, I feel the weight of the world pull me down.
From the corner of my eye, I notice her walk to the lockers.
Goddammit, why did I forget the lockers were here? Of course, she comes here after class.
I turn my head slowly, trying not to make it too obvious that I’m looking, but then I realize she’s not going to look my way. No one would if they saw what she saw.
Her first and last name, scribbled in permanent ink over three lockers, accompanied by the words is a stupid bitch.
She hesitates to open her locker but then swallows away the fear as she pushes through. A dozen pieces of paper come falling out and flutter to the ground. She picks one up, only to find it’s a picture of a potato … with her face below it.
Squinting, I can make out the text just underneath it.

Maybell Fairweather’s nose looks like a potato.

The longer she looks at it, the more sour her face turns, until that smile which I admire so much disappears into thin air, and all that’s left is the defeated look in her eyes as the tears start to gather.
She crumples up the paper and throws it in a bin, brushing away the single tear that rolls down her cheek. Then she starts to run.
Before I stand up to say something, she’s already long gone.
Stupid, stupid!
I mentally chastise myself, but it doesn’t help. It doesn’t make these bad feelings go away.
I’m always too late.
Too late to do anything. Too late to matter.
Too late to make a change.
