This is the kind of book you would put on a coffee table in the living room. It is large and filled with illustrated pictures from an era gone by. The synopsis for this book doesn’t begin to tell you how perfect it is for the holiday and for many holidays to come. My picture below shows just how many points I wanted to make about it. Unfortunately, I can’t give all the reasons why I love it as it would be way too long. It just gives you an overwhelming sense of the true meaning to Christmas and giving to others and showing love to those around you with service. If you do put it on your coffee table, don’t forget to put a box of Kleenex beside it as you may need to wipe the tears away while you are reading.

The book is easy to read. There are little things here and there so it isn’t a running story line. It has all kinds of short stories , scripture references, trivias on Christmas and songs (like “Up on the Housetop”) and symbolisms, quotes, traditions, facts on Santa, recipes throughout, gift ideas, party ideas, even a short story by Leo Tolstoy (another story that had me wiping away some tears), Christmas Movies, Christmas games, even Christmas Jokes and Christmas facts. I went through the whole book in 2 hours.

Here are some of my favorite highlights from the book:

- The story “The Night Before Christmas”
- Quote from Andy Rooney “One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas Day. Don’t clean it up too quickly.
- A recipe on how to make reindeer food
- Under Santa Facts; Before 1931, Santa had always been shown wearing other colors. A Coca-Cola advertising campaign, showing an image of him in red and white became the familiar Santa Claus we now know.
- Christmas Jokes – What do snowmen eat for breakfast? Snowflakes!
- Let it Snow- The Guinness Book of World Records states that the largest reported snowflake was fifteen inches across and eight inches thick! WOW!

I received the book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. The opinions are my own.
