Welcome to SmartMart, where crime pays minimum wage...
Busted. Alexis Dubois just got caught shoplifting a cheap tube of lipstick at the local SmartMart. She doesn’t know what’s worse—disappointing her overbearing beauty-pageant-obsessed mother for the zillionth time…or her punishment. Because Lex is forced to spend her summer working at the store, where the only things stranger than the staff are the customers.
Now Lex is stuck in the bizarro world of big-box retail. Coupon cutters, jerk customers, and learning exactly what a “Code B” really is (ew). And for added awkwardness, her new supervisor is the totally cute—and adorably geeky—Noah Grayson. Trying to balance her out-of-control mother, her pitching position on the softball team, and her secret crush on the school geek makes for one crazy summer. But ultimately, could the worst job in the world be the best thing that ever happened to her?

What if the next new drug was you? Raleigh’s body produces a drug that could define the future of medicine if the dangerous world surrounding it doesn't kill her first.
Eighteen-year old Raleigh Groves can sense disease in others and is suffering from her own unexplained illness as well. Rho has spent the last few years on the run. The Lucidin that is racing through his system makes him a target. An unforgettable new series from acclaimed author Katie McGarry about taking risks, opening your heart and ending up in a place you never imagined possible.
Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighborhood. Sure, she's curious about her biological father—the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent—but that doesn't mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns to an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both.
Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They're the good guys. They protect people. They're…family. And while Emily—the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club's most respected member—is in town, he's gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it's his shot at his dream. What he doesn't count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down.
No one wants them to be together. But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home.

Everyone at Hundred Oaks High knows that career mentoring day is a joke. So when Maya Henry said she wanted to be a rock star, she never imagined she’d get to shadow *the* Jesse Scott, Nashville’s teen idol.
But spending the day with Jesse is far from a dream come true. He’s as gorgeous as his music, but seeing all that he’s accomplished is just a reminder of everything Maya’s lost: her trust, her boyfriend, their band, and any chance to play the music she craves. Not to mention that Jesse’s pushy and opinionated. He made it on his own, and he thinks Maya’s playing back up to other people’s dreams. Does she have what it takes to follow her heart—and go solo?
This book is amazing. And I read it without reading the others first.

Seventeen-year-old Emma Harris is drowning on dry land.
No one knows what’s happening to her, and she’d like to keep her evolution from human to mermaid a secret, but the truth is getting harder and harder to hide. From her adoptive family, from her friends, and especially from the irresistible James Phelps.
Her time in the ocean is spent dodging a possessive merman, while her time on land is split between caring for her special-needs brother and squeezing in every last possible moment of human life. She soon realizes falling for James is unavoidable when he constantly comes to Emma’s rescue and somehow manages to see through her carefully constructed icy facade to the vulnerability she lives with every day. Everything about James makes Emma yearn for a life on land she just can't have.
When Emma’s brother disappears on her watch, James is the only person she trusts to help her save him. But even if they can save her brother, nothing can prevent her return to the sea. Whether she likes it or not, Emma is changing—unable to breathe without yielding to the tide—and it's only a matter of time before she's forced to surrender forever.

ReplyDeleteObsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout <3 Daemon Black
ReplyDeleteI would recommend All Fall Down by Ally Carter.
ReplyDeleteI just finished The Wrath and the Dawn, it was really good
ReplyDeleteSalt and Stone by Victoria Scott!
ReplyDeleteI recently read Red Queen, Young Elites, A Court of Thorns and Roses and the Fire and Thorns books (which to me, had similar vibes), and they were all very good. For something different, I would suggest Me, and Earl, and the Dying Girl. It was, as Andrews described it himself, a funny book about something not funny.
ReplyDeleteThe Wrath and the Dawn!!!
ReplyDeleteCatching Fire
ReplyDeleteI love Jennifer Armentrout's new Gargoyle series! The third book is coming out soon :)
ReplyDeleteI just read Every Last Breath by Jennifer L. Armentrout and loved it.

ReplyDeleteOne series I'm reading is Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, by Ransom Riggs. There is a 3rd part due out soon called Library of Souls. I loved these books and can't wait for the third one. Another one I'd recommend is the Asylum series by Madeleine Roux. The third part of this one is also due out soon called Catacomb :)
ReplyDeleteShadowcursed by Gelo R. Fleisher! It's an indie that came out a few years ago. Its AMAZING! It's 200 pgs long but really really good! I gave it 5 stars!

I recommend Queen of shadows by sarah j maas :D
ReplyDeleteThe Last Princess by Galaxy Craze
ReplyDeleteFifteenth Summer by Michelle Dalton! It came out a couple years ago and I got it then but didn't read it until recently. It was such a sweet feel-good book.
ReplyDeleteI love Pierce Brown's work. Golden Son was his release this year, but if you haven't read Red Rising, you'll need to do so. Red Rising was released as YA, but it's really more an adult book - both books are (at least I think so). His work is beautiful and he's shown tremendous growth over the course of the past year, in spite of being outrageously talented to begin with.
ReplyDeleteThe ghostbird series by C.L.Stone
