This is a story about 2 people from different lifestyles both well off. Well, one is uber well off!

Susanna is a widow who had married and went to the city and then returned to life on a ranch after her husband passed away. She takes care of the ranch and works very hard, almost to obsessive. She loves what she does and it shows. She also has an exotic oasis she made on the ranch that shows off her feminine side. It has open space and a large bear claw tub right out in the open with everything imaginable for a peaceful moment.

Royce is a scientist, an extremely and utterly rich scientist who works with gold and precious metals and gems. He even has things around with gold and gems in them that aren’t practical but that doesn’t seem to matter to him. He runs into Susanna one night while drunk and has a run in between his motorcycle and a deer. Royce won but both the motorcycle and the deer lost. Susanna witnesses it and helps him in making sure he is okay.

Royce is immediately smitten by her. She is beautiful and a hard worker and he continues to become glued to her while trying to woe her. He shows that even though he is rich, he isn’t afraid to get himself dirty and helps her on the ranch so he can spend more one on one time with her. The more time they spend together the more they like each other. He has purchased the gold mine in town and has plans for it to be reopened.

Then when she gets bitten by a rattlesnake, she is unable to work for many weeks while recovering. So, he takes her on an exotic vacation to everywhere and to do everything imaginable. Of course, that includes lots of time for skin on skin. He already knows she is the woman for him forever and constantly tells her so.

So, this story tells all there goings and comings mixed with a little mystery. Susanna is a no nonsense girl who can certainly take care of herself and likes a solitude life. Royce loves that about her too. The sex was mostly implied, not graphic at all but you knew there was a lot of it! So, don't let the cover foul you if that's what you are looking for!

What I didn’t like was that it ran slow for me. It just seemed like a long book on vacation with very little mystery or something that makes me really want to turn the page to find out what happens next. I understand Royce’s lifestyle since he was also born that way, but I didn’t think Susanna being the independent and hard working Susanna would just jump right into without a little fight. If she did, I missed it.

Royce’s words seemed almost robotic without any contractions in his verbiage. It almost graded me.

But overall, it was a fun book to read and dream of having that lifestyle for myself! LOL

I was born in South Dakota, and currently live in Lanikai Beach Hawaii. I was born the fifth of eight children, age wise I am right in the middle. Just in case you’re wondering…no, my parents are not Catholic, they just love each other :-)

When I was very young I found a deep respect and love for words and books. I broadened my vocabulary and learned how to solve problems through words.

I attended Jackson Hole Writers Convention in 2011 and it was great! The first thing the speaker said is that most writers are introverts. We could be perfectly happy with a computer and a desk chair. But there are certain times in life when you need to stop writing and start smiling at your peers. Social media is the biggest wink of all.

My husband Mike makes everything easier. Mike, myself, and our three year old puppy are finally settled in. We have paradise right outside our door, and happy vacationers all around us. It’s the perfect place for nature to be powerful, calming, and beautiful at the same time.
