I have been wanting to get my grubby hands on this book since I finished Shock Me! I had to have my fix of what was happening in this odd town. I wanted to see what else Ms. Harris had in store for Donna and friends. So, I was very grateful to get a copy for review!

I couldn’t have been happier because the story keeps getting deeper and deeper until you don’t know who to believe or trust. That is what keeps me wanting more and of course there is a wretched cliff hanger at the end! Grr!

This is the second book and the first one had me intrigued with why people were getting powers and how and when. You only get some of the answers here. We will just have to wait to get more answers. I am right there with Donna at not knowing what to do! Even though one character is dead, the work left behind is still going and that puts them all in danger.

Donna’s only friends are Spencer and Rebecca. Donna tells them just about everything but still manages to hold some back to protect them. But who will protect Donna? Ryan, I don’t know what to think of him anymore. Ryan is an enigma. We can see his inner turmoil to care for Donna. But then he chooses to do things for his dad. Then his bad boy brother seems to have some good in him too. I don’t know if I could be a team Ryan or not. But there is another love interest for Donna here maybe and I don’t know if I could be on his team either. Gah, I have to wait. WAITING is not a virtue I own!

Ugh, I can’t say anything else about the book except that for me it kept me on my toes with nonstop action.
The only thing I didn’t like is that it took me a while to get into it, I had forgotten some things. Usually, the author will put in some reminders to keep us up. But she didn’t, so I had to move slowly at first. Then I was really moving fast. But it didn’t take away from the story, just time. That's why I hate waiting!

I enjoy dystopian books and even how it adds an evil vs. good life. Because in most dystopian books someone had caused something horrible to shift and/or someone wants to take control over the chaos of an upside down world. So there is always action and wanting to find someone you can trust and be there for you to hold your hand and say it will be alright because you know it really may not be alright. There is also the element of protection and how you would do anything for those you love including your own sacrifice if it meant keeping those you love alive. Not that other stories don’t have that too, but the life in a dystopian world is ever changing and there isn’t security in your life. Then there is the can I really trust you or are you just trying to get me on your side or are you plotting against me. The people who love you will do anything to try to get back to some kind of normal. That’s why I like it. Donna is the one wanting to find answers, no matter how dangerous! She is willing to sacrifice it all for those she loves!

So, if you like dystopian, taking care of bullies, suspense and adventure, and a good who dun nit with tons of action with the paranormal this might be for you!

Exclusive Sneak Peek at SPARKS by Ashley C. Harris...

Never Forget

“My dad’s going to try to take the memories away from you, and keep us far apart from each other,” Ryan whispered frantically as a scared Donna found herself hugging him because she didn’t know what else to do. “To protect you.”
“No, please, we have to find a way to convince him,” she tried to say as their faces came strangely close. As close as they had been when Ryan had kissed her.
“Please... Never forget, Donna. Remember. I’ll never give up. You can’t either when the grayness comes, even if it all gets mixed up, try to remember, remember me.”
“Ryan, how could I ever forget you or what you really are!”
And then men were coming up the trees and there was this short man waiting at the tree’s stump. He was staring up at them.
“Saul,” she heard Ryan say as his face turned angry and animal like, and men came toward him.
