Helen Winters was living a lonely existence when the charming Dr. Liam Larson coaxed her out of solitude with the promise of healing her sightless eyes. She was hopeful at the prospect of gaining vision for the first time and being reunited with her family. She was also growing somewhat fond of the persuasive young doctor. For the first time in years, she was being magnetically drawn to a new friend...

Then everything came crashing down.

Plunged into a hellish nightmare, Helen is forced to face the same evils she ran away to escape so long ago. She is unprepared to have her hopes crushed and her peace destroyed. She finds herself living in constant terror and drowning in fear--and Liam's voice is the only thing that can keep her afloat. His comforting touch becomes the only light in her pitch-black darkness.

Helen has always been a tough girl who relied only on herself. But this time, she can't survive alone. Due to the horrors of her past, Helen has promised herself not to trust anyone. When her life becomes unbearable, how can she trust Liam enough to let him save her?

This is a miniseries. The first book left on a cliffhanger and so did this one. So just beware. Grr, I hated that though.

We ended the first book with her hearing the voice of her rapist. He was in her home and he was marrying his sister. What a nightmare? Helen (aka Winter) felt like she was in a nightmare and was in a state of shock.

She tries to avoid him and tries to tell her sister about him. But she doesn’t want to hear it. She is pregnant with his child and she knows he isn’t perfect but that’s all she wants to know. Her sister tells her that he does push himself on her sometimes. Her sister blames it on herself for not wanting to be in the mood all the time.

Then Garrett (aka rapist) corners Helen and threatens her and her sister if she does anything to ruin the wedding. He even later tries to tell Helen that he wants her to be his mistress. Sick Sick Sick!!!!

Liam, ever the gentleman, helps Helen overcome her fears and gets her to learn self defense and takes her places that only Helen would really appreciate. He is one of a kind.

Then we get to the end. It is a cliffhanger and I can’t stand it because those last few pages had my heart beating out of my chest and I need to know what happened.
