Publication: February 20th 2014 by Createspace.
Fiercely independent Helen Winters was born completely blind, but she vowed never to let her disability keep her down. Disillusioned by the cruelty of people, Helen retreated from society to live by herself as a reclusive writer in the woods—where no one could ever hurt her again.

He makes it his personal mission to rescue Helen from her loneliness, and bring joy into her world once more—the joy she has denied herself for so long.

When Helen’s demons come racing back into her life, threatening to rip her apart and destroy the strength she has carefully rebuilt, Liam is the only one who might be able to save her.

Can he reach the broken girl in time, helping her to heal and see the world in a different light? Or will Helen’s grief send her spiraling out of control, lost to him forever?

Reviewed by Kelly.

At the very end, the author puts a statement on PTSD and rape. So as this is a fiction book, it is also based on facts from her life and some of her friends. So, I tread lightly. My daughter was in a marriage of abuse and my sister in law was raped by her own husband. Both are doing much better. I saw how it changed their lives.

I saw where this was going early in the book but it did not deter me from the book. I truly wanted to know how she, Helen (who has blind since birth), would handle it. It was heart wrenching and my pulse went up waiting for what I knew was coming. But unfortunately, there is a cliff hanger. The author had a reason for it and she writes about it at the end.

But backing up; we have Helen who is blind and in college. She is a little lost in school and a man offers his assistance. She trusted him. Yet he led her to a room and raped and beat her. Her life was forever altered. She didn’t tell her family what really happened; only that she was mugged. She went into seclusion and writes books. She eats protein bars and has stuff brought to her. She lives in the middle of nowhere and prefers her life that way. Not trusting others and not wanting to appear weak ever again.

A doctor of hers talked to these two young ophthalmologists who are doing research and feel like the type of blindness Helen has can be fixed. It takes a lot of convincing for Helen to believe them. But her sister is getting married and she needs to be there. The one doctor has read a book of hers and has a crush on her. So, she strikes a bargain; if they will take her to her home for her sister’s wedding she will be part of their research. It is a long ride and the two doctors couldn’t be more opposite. She relaxes around them and they are quite funny together.

When she gets home, she not only gets wrath from her sister whom she hasn’t really seen or talked much to in years but finds out her father’s situation isn’t great either. She feels bad and decides to right the wrong.

After that, I will leave you to read the rest. It is a relatively short book. If I didn’t have a few commitments I would have read the next one right away. The end is a cliffhanger and it breaks your heart and leaves you wanting to know more!

Loretta Lost knows how dark the world can be, but chooses to believe in happily-ever-afters despite all evidence to the contrary.

I never imagined it could be like this. I couldn’t have dreamed of the way the setting sun paints the nearby river red, lighting the sky on fire. How the breeze makes our seats at the top of the ferris wheel sway. How he pulls me close to him, whispering my name like a prayer, and moves my hair away from my face, brushing his thumb against my lower lip. And how, when he replaces his thumb with his own lips, he tastes of cotton candy, salt, and unspoken promises.

The Devil's Contract

He gave them a choice.

She took it.

He made her promise two years.

She should have known there was a catch.

Amara hung up the phone and clutched it tightly in her hand so that she wouldn’t throw it against the wall. Pushing her shoulders back, Amara walked over to Vivienne with a new purpose. She wouldn’t let her father or Philip have the last say in this. Amara slid back into the booth and picked up the papers again, this time skimming through each page and the fine print at the end. In short, it was a two-year contract that required her to be free of relationships. The words almost made her sob.
What would that mean for her and Colin? Would she have to give him up? Would he let her? Amara closed her eyes and took a deep breath, not wanting to think about that. The rest of it was simple: be on call, on time, dress in the required clothing, no sexual favors unless Amara agreed to them. Vivienne would provide a furnished apartment for her—clothing, food, and anything else she would need. The last stipulation in the contract was that she was not to get a job until her two years were up. Whatever money she made in the escort service, she would give to Philip, so she would essentially make no money. After her first three months, like in most jobs, she would be reevaluated and considered for a bonus, in which case she would keep some money.
Amara dropped the contract and buried her face in her hands. “I sort of have a boyfriend,” she said. Her hands muffled her voice, but she knew Vivienne could hear her.
“I know. Colin Wolfe. Son of Demetrius and Willa Wolfe. His father is the CEO of Wolfe Investment Group, along with a couple of other high profile companies.”
Amara screwed her eyes shut under her hands, appalled by it all.
“Does Philip know this as well?”
Vivienne laughed at her muffled question, and Amara dropped her hands and looked up at her amused face. “Philip knows everything about your life. Yes, he knows this.” She shook her head, as if she wanted to say more, but stopped herself from doing so.
“How can I just leave him?” Amara asked in a strained voice. Her heart hurt just thinking about it.
“Your graduation is next week. You have a job in Paris that has been offered to you. You cannot turn it down, and you think it’s better to cut ties now because you do not want to hurt him,” Vivienne said, fabricating the outrageous story in seconds.
Amara gaped at her. “I can’t tell him that. I can’t just lie to him.”
“You won’t be lying to him. You are going to Paris at the end of next week and will be gone indefinitely. When you are ready and well trained, we will bring you back to the States.”
She sucked in a breath at the mention of training for the job. Emotions swirled inside of her. Amara continued to smother the fear that threatened to seep through with the last ounces of courage she had left. Her mother —she needed to think about her mother. Amara had dreamed of going to Paris, but her dream had always included Colin. She thought about the cancerous tumor that was clouding her mother’s brain. The thought of a life without her in it was the only thing Amara needed to consider in order to come up with the same conclusion she had five years ago.
“But what about when this is over? I’ll have no job—“

Blog Tour: Forever Your Heart (Beside Your Heart #3) by Mary Whitney

Forever Your Heart (Beside Your Heart #3)
by Mary Whitney.
Audience/Genre: New Adult, Contemporary Romance.
Publication: April 8, 2014 by Omnific Publishing.
I’m a journalist—Adam Kincaid, BBC reporter, to be exact, so I’m not going to bury the lead. I’m about to see the woman I never got over.

I know that because I’ve been back in America for years now, and I still don’t date American girls. My dad would say I’ve come to my senses, sticking to my own British patrician kind, but that’s crap. Mum, the psychologist, would more wisely say it’s my unresolved issues around Nicki. My teenage years are long behind me, yet my guilt over her remains. So I’ve avoided all things Nicki, though the irony is she’s the one avoiding me.

Maybe if we see each other, we can both move on. Could she ever forgive me? Can you forgive yourself when you hurt someone you love?

But please, don’t answer yet. I’ve jumped ahead of the story, and as a reporter, I should give you more background to get to the root of it all.

So let me tell you my story. Then you can be the judge.

NOTE: While this is the third in the series, it can be read as a standalone book.

Reviewed by Kelly.

This is Adam’s POV from the second book DISCLOSURE OF THE HEART in the Beside Your Heart series. I am not a big fan of rereading a story from another's POV. But since I didn't read the other books, it was easy for me to enjoy it.

Adam and Nicki were childhood sweethearts. But between Adam having cheated on Nicki and Adam's family having to move back to England where they are from, the relationship was over. But Adam wanted to be with her. He always continued loving her from afar. He even kept up with her life. Maybe that was a little stalkish or maybe he really needed to get his act together and get her back!

Adam was a journalist and took a job as White House Correspondent from England. That was kind of a demotion. But, Adam just wanted to be near her. Try to get back to talking to her and see if he could be hers again.

Nicki wasn't so sure. For one, she was with another man. They were serious. Adam only had a girl on the side nothing serious, he was ready to dump her. Well actually he had dumped her. They had a friends with benefits type of relationship.

The more the two talked, the harder to keep away from each other became. There were a lot of obstacles to overcome. One of them being a conflict of interest with their jobs. So, they try to keep it on the down low. Also, the two had two best friends that helped out pushing them back together.

It is interesting to get the male's POV. They are such sexual creatures. I don't know how any man gets any job done with their thoughts on the opposite sex constantly on their mind!

The epilogue is in Nicki's POV. They are a cute couple. Adam is so sweet, kind and patient with her. Oh, don't get me wrong, he is determined to have her, and he is really good at getting her back. They really do need each other.

Bash McDaniels was just weeks away from finally blowing out of his hometown to make it as a boxer and never coming back. Saving Olivia Beckett from her violent boyfriend should’ve been a speed bump at most, but love stopped him in his tracks. Now, instead viewing Boston in his rearview mirror, he’s viewing it through prison bars…

Bash was her savior when she needed him most. Now, Olivia has to find a way to repay the favor, knowing all the while that freeing him might mean losing him forever…

*Note from the author: This is a novella length serial that takes place over the course of three books approximately 25,000 words each, released a month apart or less. The final book will be out on (or before) May 20th. This book is new adult, and contains scenes that are sexual in nature.

Reviewed by Kelly.

Mini review for a mini book!
Bash needs to learn how to be part of a team instead of trying to do everything alone to spare those he cares about. For that matter, they all do. I understand people want to keep those they care about out of pain and sadness but these things that are happening to them with Bash and now issues with his brother, well it is way to scarey to do this on their own.
I have to wait and find out what happens to Bash next. How will Olivia take it. And Matty better get his act together too! I hope he finds someone, he needs a gentle touch of his own.
Another cliffhanger. (insert sad face here)

Christine Bell is a romance author and also writes erotic romance as Chloe Cole. She and her handsome hubby currently reside in Pennsylvania with a four-pack of teenage boys. If she gets time off from her duties as maid, chef, chauffeur, or therapist, she can be found reading just about anything she can get her hands on, from Young Adult novels to books on poker theory. She doesn’t like root beer, clowns or bugs (except ladybugs, on account of their cute outfits), but lurrves chocolate, going to the movies, the New York Giants and playing Texas Hold ‘Em. Writing is her passion, but if she had to pick another occupation, she would be a pirate…or, like, a ninja maybe. Inevitable (The Yara Silva Trilogy #3)
by Lani Woodland.
Audience/Genre: Paranormal, Young Adult.
Publication: February 10th 2014.
Three years. So much has changed for Yara, yet much is still the same.

Yara has spent the last three years in Brazil, diligently studying with Vovó to develop her Waker abilities and desperately searching for a cure for Brent. Though her powers—and her control over them—have grown, every possible cure for Brent fails. And they're running out of the only medicine that keeps him alive.

When a letter from the American Wakers recalls Yara and Vovó to California, Yara has to weigh the fading chance of saving Brent against the dangers of placing them all within the grasp of an old enemy. Not only has his power grown, but the barrier between our world and the spirit world is becoming dangerously thin. As the threat to the Wakers increases, Yara doesn't know if she'll be strong enough to defeat him.

Her only hope is to put her trust in some unexpected allies and fully embrace her Waker heritage. If she fails, not only could Brent die, but the power of the Wakers could disappear forever

Here is an excerpt.....
I drew in a deep breath, inhaling the different scents of São Paulo, the damp air, the richness of the trees and flowers that didn’t grow at my parents’ home; even the smog smelled different than southern California. But beneath all of the scents of the city was the familiar one of Brent, the one that’d been comforting me since high school.
“You’re right. São Paulo does feel like home now.”
Brent leaned forward and pressed his forehead against mine. “It doesn’t matter where we go. Home is wherever you are.”
I stared into his brown eyes and knew exactly what he meant. He wrapped his arms around me and held me and I closed my eyes and just breathed in his musky citrusy scent. Being in his arms was home for me, too.
“So you don’t regret running off with your girlfriend?” I asked with a teasing smile.
“Let’s see. So far I’ve learned another language, finished college, found a grown-up job I love, and learned so much about the Waker world I feel like an honorary member.” Brent leaned in close and the warmth of his breath, which smelled like cinnamon, warmed my neck and tickled my ear as he whispered. “Oh, and I managed to fall even more in love with you than I was in high school. I didn’t think that was possible.” He gently trailed butterfly kisses down my neck.
“Good answer,” I said in a breathy voice while I angled my neck to give him better access.
He gave a low husky chuckle before clearing his throat and sitting back.
I leaned closer and sighed. “It’s like we’ve been on vacation. For, like, a really long time.”
Brent laughed. “Vacations don’t usually require so much studying.”
“Life just feels perfect right now. I’m so happy and I don’t want it to end.”
Brent caught my eye, his expression serious. “Who says it will?”
I lowered my lashes. “No one. I’m just afraid that once we land at the airport it’ll spark some chain reaction and change everything.”
“Well, things will be different there. There’s no way they can’t be. We’ll have the American Wakers and Crosby in play. But whatever happens, we’ll be able to get through it together.” Brent tugged me closer. “You’re not alone, Yara.”
He kissed me then and I relaxed into it, allowing my worries to fall away as the clamor of the city carried on around us.

Intrinsical (The Yara Silva Trilogy #1) by Lani Woodland

Intrinsical (The Yara Silva Trilogy #1)
by Lani Woodland.
Audience/Genre: Young Adult, Parnormal.
Publication: August 20th 2010 by Pendrell Publishing.
Sixteen-year-old Yara Silva has always known that ghosts walk alongside the living. Her grandma, like the other females in her family, is a Waker, someone who can see and communicate with ghosts. Yara grew up watching her grandmother taunted and scorned for this unusual ability and doesn't want that to be her future. She has been dreading the day when she too would see ghosts, and is relieved that the usually dominant Waker gene seems to have skipped her, letting her live a normal teenage life. However, all that changes for Yara on her first day at her elite boarding school when she discovers the gene was only lying dormant. She witnesses a dark mist attack Brent, a handsome fellow student, and rushes to his rescue. Her act of heroism draws the mist's attention, and the dark spirit begins stalking her. Yara finds herself entrenched in a sixty-year-old curse that haunts the school, threatening not only her life, but the lives of her closest friends as well. Yara soon realizes that the past she was trying to put behind her isn't going to go quietly

Reviewed by Kelly.

This book flowed so smoothly that once I picked it up, I didn’t put it back down until I was done! I mean like Dinner? What’s that? At least that’s my excuse I use!!
The summary does a good job in telling the jest of the story. Yara is embarrassed by her heritage and always hoped she wouldn’t be able to see and talk to ghosts like her grandmother. But once she goes to this boarding school; which by the way has a history of supposed suicides and a 60 year old story of a mysterious burned building with a tragic loss of the boys who were in it, she starts to see a mist that looks and feels evil. She first sees this mist move to this handsome boy and starts to go into his mouth. No one else sees this and he starts to choke on it. Yara notices that no one else sees the mist. She runs to him and performs the Heimlich maneuver to get it out. It works and he is grateful to her. There starts to be an awkward friendship or maybe something more?!
Yara has panic attacks sometimes and is nervous about giving a speech in class. While preparing for it, a book in the library falls to the ground off the shelf and opens to a page where it tells her how to speak in public when you are nervous. She does it and finds herself coming out of her body. Brent the boy she saved, talks to her afterwards and tells her he knows what she did and what happened to her. He says he will help her to hone her skills on it. Then he doesn’t show up and later tells her it isn’t a good idea to do it. “What the?” So when she does it again, her “soul” finds him and he turns to her angrily and says he told her not to do it. Yara was a little frightened of him.
Then Brent again acts differently and has an argument with his best friend of forever and his best friend moves to another room.
Also, someone is trying to get Yara’s attention. When I say someone, it is not a living person who is trying to communicate with her. Finally she gets it. It’s Brent, but Brent is alive, right? I know it’s confusing to me and Yara too!
Then she goes and has a séance and Yara finds herself supposedly dead after drowning while with “Brent” and her soul is now hanging out with Brent’s soul. Okay, so Brent’s body is inhabited by an evil person from the original boys who were killed in the fire. So now what? This evil mist needs to be destroyed and Yara will do anything to get Brent’s soul and body back together.
Yara and Brent will do whatever it takes to help the other, but both don’t want the other hurt in the process. Now, they have to solve the mystery of who the evil is and how to fix it. Even if it means dying for the other person! Because that’s what friends do!
If you want to know how they do it, who the evil person is and who dies, my lips are sealed. You have to read it yourself.
I enjoyed the story and am excited to pick up the next one. If you like clean stories, chivalry, good vs. evil, ghost stories, best friends that would do anything to help their friends out, and maybe a little romance then this book is for you.

Blog Tour: The A-Word (Sweet Dead Life #2) by Joy Preble

The A-Word (Sweet Dead Life #2) by Joy Preble
Audience/Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal
Publication: May 13th 2014 by Soho Teen
Jenna Samuels and her guardian angel brother battle heavenly head-honchos and earthbound bullies in this Texas-set hilarious follow up to The Sweet Dead Life.

It's been almost a year since Jenna Samuel’s stoner brother, Casey, bit the dust and returned as her guardian angel. A year since Casey and his “angel boss,” Amber Velasco, saved Jenna’s life and helped her foil the bad guys—more or less. A year in which Jenna has solved the true mystery of the universe: how to get one Ryan Sloboda to ask her out.

Jenna’s feeling mighty cheery about life and love. But Casey, whose doomed relationship with Lanie Phelps (who has no idea her boyfriend is, well, dead) isn’t doing much to distract him, has his own big question: Why is he still hanging around?

Bo Shivers, a heavenly head honcho Jenna and Casey didn't even know existed, might have the answer. Bo knows something big is coming. Something that might just change everything for Jenna Samuels, who once again finds herself up to her non-winged shoulders in heavenly secrets of global proportions—just as she’s finally found the perfect Homecoming Dance dress.

Who Would You Cast as Casey?

Casey Samuels is Jenna’s brother. He is the stoner guy turned guardian angel/unlikely hero with a heart of gold and some stubborn (or maybe not so stubborn) bad habits. My choice to play Casey is actor Logan Lerman, who played Charlie in Perks of Being a Wallflower and also starred in the Percy Jackson film, among many other roles. He physically looks like the Casey in my head—medium height, medium build, handsome but not overly so, really more cute than anything— and I think he has the emotional range to play someone who is very much the reluctant hero. In THE SWEET DEAD LIFE, Casey had been plodding through life since his dad disappeared five years ago and his mom has progressively become almost comatose. He took care of Jenna, worked two jobs, and had a little recreational drug habit that got him through the long nights. Hardly angelic, Casey Samuels. But then there was the car accident that changed everything. Casey had to step it up. He looks hot now. He has angel mojo. And more than one mystery to solve. And now in THE A-WORD, Casey is trying to figure out what his larger purpose is. Why has Angel Management kept him hanging around. And how does he feel about his old girlfriend Lanie going out with football player Donnie Sneed?
I think Logan Lerman could totally play all that.

Release Day Launch and Giveaway for Where There's Smoke by Elizabeth Lee

Where There's Smoke
by Elizabeth Lee.
Audience/Genre: New Adult, Contemporary Romance.
Publication: May 20th 2014.
There is something to be said for letting go. Ryland Roberts knows that better than anyone. He'd let go of his ambitions, of his family and—most of all—of her. He'd perfected the art of putting his past behind him and accepted the fact that the town he wanted to leave in his rearview was the place where he was going to live out his days. But sometimes the past doesn't just go away. Sometimes it comes back to haunt you.

Piper Jameson convinced herself that she left for all the right reasons. She'd saved people by leaving—made sure that they weren't tainted by her rebellious ways. When her little sister asks her to come home and say goodbye to their ailing mother, she's forced to see that things aren't always as they seem. The people who she'd left behind might not have been saved at all.

In the amount of time it takes a bullet to travel from point A to point B, Piper and Ryland will have to put their feelings for each other aside and make a choice. Forced on the run with Piper's sister, they begin to understand that the future they thought was gone was never really lost

An Excerpt...

I stretched my arm out and placed a hand on the cool concrete, the grit and dirt sticking to my palm. Such a contrast to the warmth I felt with Ryland firmly pressed up against me. The curves of my backside fit perfectly against his long, lean frame, our skin heating up the chill around us.

The fall weather had descended upon our small Midwestern town almost overnight. It seemed like only a week or two ago we had been wearing shorts and flip-flops. Now it was jeans and jackets. Well, actually, now it was nothing.

I felt my cheeks heat as I thought about what we had just done. I wasn't embarrassed. Far from it. In fact, I'd never felt more sure about anything in my entire life as I was about what had just happened with Ry.

“That was incredible,” he whispered against my neck as he traced lazy circles on my shoulder with his fingertips.

“Yeah,” I breathed, rolling onto my back to look up at him. The soft glow of an outdoor utility light crept through the open side of the airplane hangar, barely lighting up the space. “Never imagined our first time being on a blanket spread out on a cold, hard floor, but I would do it again in a heartbeat.”

“Me too. Let’s get on that then,” he said with a wicked grin before he pressed his lips to mine. Propping himself on one arm—his hand resting against the side of his head—he snaked his free hand under one of the flannel blankets he'd commandeered from an airplane parked beside us.

I liked this side of him. The side that wasn't perfect and calculated. The side that just did, said, and felt what he wanted. He was literally feeling his way up my body—his hands smooth and rough all at the same time—sending all of my teenage hormones spiraling out of control. We were living in the moment, which was exactly where I preferred to be.

“You know how much I love you, right?” His face became very serious, almost concerned. “I wanted tonight to be special. I thought we'd go back to my house after we looked at the planes. My parents are gone and...” He was back in his head, thinking about his meticulously thought-out evening. Doubting his ability to be perfect. He did this sometimes—overanalyzed things. “It didn't go exactly as I planned, but—”

“It was perfect,” I assured him. “Plans, schmans.” I pulled his face to mine, giggling, my lips barely grazing his. “And I love you, too.”

That was the thing about Ryland—I saw a side of him that no one else saw. I could probably say the same for him about me. Until him, I’d never felt like I was going to amount to much, but he believed in me, even when I didn't—which was most of the time. When I was with him, I didn't feel like I needed to do everything in my power to piss people off. He made me want to stay in this Godforsaken town with a family that ignored my existence. They ignored it until I did something wrong—which was about ninety percent of the time. Then my stepfather made sure to let me just how worthless I was.

“So do you feel like a rebel?” I asked. “This being your first breaking and entering and all.”

It had been his idea to sneak on to the airfield—something that was much more in my wheelhouse than his. I was the one who usually threw caution to the wind. He was the good boy. The straight-A student. The doting son.

“Oh yeah.” He laughed. “I'm a regular badass. Nothing like walking through an open gate to an abandoned shed.” He cast his arm out sarcastically in the vacant space above our heads. Nothing but sheet metal and wooden beams. A handful of airplanes were parked around us with a smattering of fuel cans, tools, and parachutes hanging from the walls. “I'm not sure we actually broke into anything. More like casually strolled in.”

We lived in a town where people
left their front doors unlocked. The kind of town where everyone knew everyone and all of their business. Truitville. It was a place with a minimal crime rate. I think that night, that's what we’d both thought: What's the worst that could happen?

“So what's next then, Clyde? Wanna rob a bank?”

When I'm not writing or playing the part of wife and mother, you can find me dancing back-up for Beyonce, singing back-up for Miranda, or sunning myself on the beach with a drink in hand. Here's the thing about being born and raised in a small town—you have a very vivid imagination! Now, I channel it all to create stories where the girl always ends up with the right guy, first kisses are magical, and a happy ending is just that!

Blog Tour & Giveaway: All Lined Up (Rusk University #1) by Cora Carmack

Check out the whole Tour HERE

All Lined Up (Rusk University #1)
by Cora Carmack.
Audience/Genre: New Adult, Contemporary Romance.
Publication: May 13th 2014 by William Morrow Paperbacks.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cora Carmack follows up her trio of hits—Losing It, Faking It, and Finding It—with this thrilling first novel in an explosive series bursting with the Texas flavor, edge, and steamy romance of Friday Night Lights.

In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.

Dallas Cole loathes football. That's what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.

But life doesn't always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It's obliterated.

Dallas doesn't know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn't know that Dallas is his new coach's daughter.

And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel

I love Cora Cormack and she is an auto buy book author for me!! I don’t even look at the blurb-I just click and pre order or buy! She never disappoints. Her characters are real, the situations plausible and your heart goes out to those characters. ….Just sayin’

I started off loving the book just by her intro. She lays the groundwork of where you are and who the characters are. In this case, Stella and Dallas (our female protagonist) are at their first year in college. Stella is Dallas’s best friend and total opposite of Dallas. But they have each other’s back and share a room on campus.

Dallas’s mom up and left them, so Dallas was raised by her dad. Her dad is the main coach at the college she is attending. He was also the coach at her high school. Her dad is known for going to different schools and fixing the teams and then moving on. And if you were thinking, yes, Dallas is named after a football team. Dallas and her dad don’t really have a great relationship as he is busy at work. They don’t fight; they just exist with each other.

Dallas has a dream of dancing, but her dad wouldn’t have it as it won’t get her anywhere in life. So she goes to the same college as her dad because it has some semblance of dance.

In high school, she had a boyfriend, Levi, who is now also attending the same school. Dallas loathes Levi. He used her and spit her out. She never said anything to her dad about it. But Dallas really doesn’t want anything to do with boys who play football. Levi still plays football there as the quarterback and is doing well! But there is another boy wanting that spot and will do anything to get it, including working out harder and longer and studying different plays. This boy, Carson, doesn’t think the Coach notices; but he does.

When Stella drags Dallas to a party trouble ensues with one of the football players. When she makes an escape over a balcony in a skirt; there just happens to be the same boy, Carson hanging out in the back. He kind of comes to her rescue. Dallas is surprised with herself when they find themselves making out right after that in the back yard. So not like her. When Stella finds them, she breaks it up because she knows Dallas isn’t like that and Stella thinks Dallas is a virgin. Dallas never told Stella that she gave it to Levi. She just doesn’t want to talk about it.

But as time reveals everything, she finds out Carson is on the team and she is mad. But Carson didn’t know that the Coach was her dad either and they hadn’t really given each other last names or talked about what they are doing at school yet. As they get over that hurdle they slowly become secret friends.

But in the beginning before Carson knew all that. He hears and kind of ignores a conversation in the locker room about her. It is a bet on who can get in her pants first and that she doesn’t give up easily. Carson wonders who they are talking about but stays clear of the gossip and is not that kind of boy.

Dallas doesn’t tell her dad about Carson. Carson doesn’t say anything to Dallas about the bet once he realizes it was her. But things have a way of coming out and in a bad horrible way it does and it goes viral with major misunderstandings. Now how to fix it??

Oh yeah, and Dallas really wants a shot at dancing and how will her dad handle that one too??

Also the book is about finding your own way. That is a topic I love. Dallas really wants a shot at dancing and how will her dad handle that one?? Carson is working hard because he needs a scholarship and wants to go pro. He isn’t sure if he has what it takes and money is tight at home.

I love the humor in the book. The inner conversations Dallas and Carson have in their heads. Yep, they both have their own POV’s.

Carson is unbelievably kind and sweet to Dallas. He is a treasure and if he were mine; I Would. Not. Let. Him. Go. Ever.

To sum it up, go get the book!!
