They thought they had escaped. They were wrong.

After fleeing the Branch with Sam, Cas, and Nick, Anna is trying to make sense of the memories resurfacing from her old life. At the same time, she's learning how to survive in hiding, following Sam's rules: Don't draw attention to yourself. Always carry a weapon. Know your surroundings. Watch your back.

Then a figure from Anna's childhood reappears. Is it a Branch setup, or could it be the reunion Anna has hoped for? Uncertain of where her loyalties lie, Anna must fight to learn the truth -- before she is betrayed again. Ultimately, the answers hinge on one question: What was the real reason her memories were erased?

Jennifer Rush delivers a thrilling sequel to Altered in a novel packed with mysteries, lies, and surprises that are sure to keep readers guessing until the last age is turned

What an adventure! I need more of Anna, Sam, Nick and Cas. They are funny, sweet, loyal, and all can kick some major butt!! Trev, hmmm.. Still not sure how I feel about him. I would keep my guard around him since I still feel the sting of betrayal. I can’t wait a whole year for the next one!

Nick, he is definitely growing on me. He may be the grumpy one but he has a heart of gold inside. Cas is the major side kick; he can make any situation light and funny.

Sam and Anna. Sigh… They are so cute together. But this story doesn’t revolve around their romance at all. They spend too much time running and kicking butt to stay alive. When Anna’s family comes back into her life, you just don’t know what to think. It made my heart clinch for Anna. Because she didn’t know what her family would do for her and Sam. I can’t say much more without spoilers. Anna has had a major past that when it all comes out that WOW… I would have to have some major psychiatric treatment if that was my family that I just learned about!! But Anna is stronger than I gave her credit for.

The Branch is really out to bring them in. I am still not sure what they really want with them or even Anna. Still despising Riley!

I enjoyed the constant running and them growing and learning about their pasts as flashbacks bring their lives back to them piece by piece. It makes me mad at what they all suffered.

This story focuses on them trying to piece what their past is and what they need to do next. Memories piece together their history and families. What do their pasts mean for their future and what will they do with the Branch constantly after them?

There isn't a cliffhanger ending. Some might even think it's the end. But I see there is another book yet to come. Good, because I need more and I want to see them all have some sense of their lives and to be able to live their lives normally.

Once you open the book, there is no stopping. You just can't help but keep reading it. It just sucks you right in! Come on 2015!!!

Questions for Jennifer on Anna and Sam

1. If Anna had a normal life, and Sam took her out on a date, where would she want to go and why?
I think Anna would probably want to do something totally normal, like a coffee shop date, or a hike and picnic.

2. Does Anna have a playlist?
If you mean, does Anna listen to music in her down time, then yes, totally. I think she'd definitely listen to a mix of music, like rock for when she's feeling particularly badass---perhaps while running! And then more low key music for when she's sketching, like some of Florence + the Machine's stuff, or If I Had a Heart by Fever Ray.

If you mean do I have a specific playlist for when writing Anna, the answer is --- sorta. I have a playlist for Altered and Erased, and some of the staples are Florence + the Machine and A Perfect Circle. Clearly I like the Flo!

3. What does Anna like best about Sam?
She looooves how loyal and protective he is, but also how smart and calculating he is. Calculating can be seen as a negative characteristic, but with Sam it's simply that he wants to know his next ten moves, so that he's always one step ahead of the Branch. Not to say that it always works out in his favor!
