Homecoming (Cloaked Devices 0.5)
by Cecilia Robert.
Audience/Genre: Adult, Paranormal romance with steam punk and fantasy elements.
Publication: October 25th 2013 by Cecilia Robert .
Five years ago, twenty-three-year-old panther shifter Sera Czedar left her home and her newly mated groom in a humiliating position after a mating ceremony gone wrong. She built a new life for herself in Varselles, the City of Outcasts where shifters exiled from their clans in the Seven Kingdoms can go for sanctuary.

Five years ago, panther shifter Levian Grayson was abandoned on the bonding bed by his bride, Sera. After years of tracking her, he arrives in Varselles, intent on staking his claim on her once and for all, even if it means hauling her over his shoulder just to make sure that happens.

Sera has always known her homecoming would eventually catch up with her one day. The one thing she can’t bear to do is hurt Levian, which will happen as soon as he finds out the reason she left him. Is she ready to take that path? Most of all, will Levian still want her when the truth comes out?

Dag-nabit!. Those were my first words when it was the end. It was just getting good! I was like great ok, and then and then and NOOOOOO, it's the end! GRRR.... I have to wait. I. Despise. Waiting.

I am not really into steampunk but I enjoy shifters. I didn't really see much of the steampunk. Also, although it is a short story, a lot of info is packed in and the story moves very well.

Okay, let's get to the meat of the story. Sera ran away five years ago after realizing she really was the true mate of Levian and she left before they consumated it. Levian absolutely adores her and wants her and only her. He has always loved her. He would do anything for her. He is now the Beta of his clan. He has searched for her for the past five years. Then word comes that she has been found.

When Levian goes to find her, he brings his brother, Tegue, who is the best fighter and a womanizer, and Uriel his human best friend. But Sera has changed since they last saw her. She is a force to be reckoned with. She fights in the Rings and she wins. She has earned money so that she can buy The 4 Journals of the Cloaked Devices as a gift to her father when she returns to atone for her sins of leaving.

When Levian gets to her. She still loves him. There is obvious chemistry. There is no doubt they are true mates. She is ready to go home and face everyone. But, when the truth comes out, it changes everything. But will Levian still want her. He still loves her ,but, he is hurting. I didn't guess what the secret was. When it came out, I wanted to know what would happen, but we don't get all those answers because it comes to a fast conclusion and you have to wait for book #1 to come out.

Even though I despise waiting, I am all in for this series. I think the obvious chemistry and that there was no jump in bed at the beginning makes me want more. I want to see them happy. I want a Levian. Sera was stupid and young and 5 years is a long time so I hope everyone can work out the issues and then we can learn more about these Cloaked Devices that all we know is that they are dangerous.

If you like shifters, steampunk (it's not alot), chemistry, family, women who can kick butt, and trying to overcome some stupid mistakes you made as a teenager then you will like this.
