Deity has got to be Jennifer's best book so far and that's saying a lot, since pretty much everything written by Jen is amazing.

The story continues from the end of Pure, with Alex, Aiden and Seth sharing the secret of what really happened when the Furies arrived. Alex is now just a few weeks away from turning 18 and going Apollyon on everyone's ass. She isnot dealing well with it and Seth's excitement doesn't help. There are so many twists, turns and revelations in Deity that it takes awhile for it all to sink in. Some are not going to like the changes but personally, I think they made the book epic! I want to say I saw it coming all along but believe me, no matter what you expect to happen, Jen will shock you. Gods (yeah, it catches on), I can't even begin to describe how amazing this book was. I could not put it down!

There were times I wanted to rip the book apart and times I wanted to kiss it (my precious, precious ARC). I'm embarrassed but I'll say it anyway - I even shed some tears. Yeah, like in the movies, I cried on the pages. GAH! I NEED APOLLYON NOW!

There are very, very few authors who can create brilliant, mesmerising characters and Jennifer's on top of that list. I've said it before - Jen's fantastic at character creation/development and I always feel like I'm going through the emotions right alongside the characters when I read her books. With Alex, I felt like I got punched in the gut every time she went through a sad/tough time and literally felt like I was floating on Cloud 9 whenever she was happy (hint hint : ♥ Aiden ).
So much has changed - the Alex in Deity is so different from the one we met inHalf-Blood - with all the (crappy) stuff that she has been dealt with, Jen's developed Alex's character, for lack of a more suitable word, beautifully. I love a heroine who's flawed, yet strong and to me, Alex is a fictional, half-blooded Joan of Arc.

Deity is a terrific spin on Greek mythology; Jen's version of the Gods are insanely cool, trust me.
With a plot that'll blow your face off and characters that take you on quite an emotional ride, The Covenant Series is a must read for everyone who loves YA and Greek mythology.
