Blog Tour : Blood of the Demon (Demons of Infernum #1) by Rosalie Lario (Interview + Giveaway)

I'm excited to be a part of Blood of the Demon blog tour! I've an interview with the author, Rosalie Lario, followed by an e-book giveaway for you guys so make sure you check it out. Also, you can check out the rest of the stops here.

Blood of the Demon (Demons of Infernum #1) by Rosalie Lario.
Audience/Genre : Adult/Paranormal.
Publication : July 10th 2012 by Entangled Publishing (first published May 8th 2011).
Keegan lives to exact revenge on the evil demon who sired and abused him. When his father devises a plan to bring on the apocalypse, he and his three half-brothers, interdimensional bounty hunters for the Elden Council, are charged with capturing and delivering their father for punishment.

Art gallery owner Brynn Meyers has no idea that her ability to read memories embedded in objects and drain people of their life force means she has demon ancestry. Unfortunately for Brynn, she's also the key to raising an ancient zombie army, which puts her on every demon's Most Wanted List. And no one wants her more than Keegan's father. Keegan must protect Brynn from his father by any means necessary, but he'll have to learn to harness the other half of his genetics-the far deadlier, uncontrollable half-when he starts to fall for the one woman standing between him and the vengeance he so desperately seeks. The one woman he'll never be able to resist.

The story of Blood of the Demons is unique, even in its genre. How did the idea for it come about?

I had been interested in writing a story centered around demons for quite some time, but I knew that I wanted my demons to be different than the classic version from Hell. Ever since watching the Jet Li movie, The One, I’d been interested in the multiverse concept. What if there were multiple dimensions, each one a little different? I decided to take this a step further and include some of our myths and lore into the world I created. So in my Demons of Infernum world, there are multiple dimensions, each housing its own species of beings. These are the supernatural creatures that we think of as mythical: demons, vampires, mermaids, shifters, etc. They really do exist, and many of them are living here on Earth, hidden amongst us.

Describe Blood of the Demons in 3 words.

Steamy.
Spellbinding.
Action-packed (Uh...does that count as one word?).

How many books are you planning in the Demons of Infernum series?

It is a four book series (one book for each of the brothers), plus there’s a novella featuring the brothers’ incubus friend Cresso.

Are any of your characters inspired by someone you know in real life?

I wish, lol. No, my characters pretty much come from my mind (though I do admit that Taeg was sort of inspired by Dean Winchester of the CW’s Supernatural. Love that guy!)

What's your favorite book?

Too many to pick just one! I’d say two of my favorite all-time books are To Tame a Highland Warrior by Karen Marie Moning and One Foot in the Grave by Jeaniene Frost. (Ch. 32!)

What do you do when you're not writing?

I live in Florida, so pretty much all activity is centered around the water. Beach, pool, boating, you name it. It’s a tough life. ☺

If you had to write a genre other than Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, what do you see yourself writing about?

Some sort of romance; it will always be romance! I’ve actually got a contemporary romance series that’s been begging to be written. Hopefully I’ll get around to it sometime within the next year.

Random question - who's your favorite actor/actress?

Since I mentioned Dean Winchester, I’ll have to go with the hilarious, delicious actor who plays him: Jensen Ackles. Sigh...

Thank you Rosalie, for answering my questions!

Formally trained as a corporate and real estate lawyer, I practiced law for 5 years before finally admitting to myself that negotiating contracts wasn’t nearly as fun as dreaming up stories. As an avid reader of romances and supernatural stories, I knew I wanted to write urban fantasy and paranormal romance. Tales of vampires, demons, and other supernatural beings ensued.
I’m currently working on the Demons of Infernum series, a series of paranormal romance novels featuring four sexy half-demon brothers and their reluctant heroines. When not writing, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son in our home state of Florida, as well as searching out things that go bump in the night. I still haven’t found any, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
If I ever do find evidence of the supernatural, it remains to be seen whether I’ll jump around in excitement, or run screaming in terror (but I’m betting on the latter)!

  1. Loved the interview! I really want to try this series! I keep hearing so much about it but amazon uk has only got one of the books available for the kindle and I think it's the third book in the series! I like to read in order so I keep checking to see if they'll make the others available as well! Then I can buy them! My favourite PNR/UF is Kelley Armstrong though I like a lot of PNR/UF author's, it's my preferred genre to read! I've actually just started Jeaniene Frost's series! I'm reading the first of Cat & Bone's books now so I smiled when she was mentioned as the author of a favourite book!

  2. I've always believed the best heroes are the ones that aren't 'too goody goody'. It's interesting that, while most heroes are angelic guys with some dark qualities, you write from the reverse perspective... demons that have good qualities. Great concept. Good luck with the series!
