"I won't tell anyone, Echo. I promise."
Noah tucked a curl behind my ear. It had been so long since someone touched me like he did. Why did it have to be Noah Hutchins?
His dark brown eyes shifted to my covered arms.
"You didn’t do that—did you? It was done to you?"
No one ever asked that question.
They stared.
They whispered.
They laughed.
But they never asked.
So wrong for each other...and yet so right.
No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with “freaky” scars on her arms. Even Echo can’t remember the whole truth of that
horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal.
But when Noah Hutchins, the smokinghot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo’s world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.
Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she’ll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again.
I have been dying to read Katie McGarry's Pushing The Limits ever since I found it on Goodreads after hearing about it from a friend a few months ago. I mean, look at that cover! HOT.
Noah and Echo are two teenagers from extreme ends. Echo is a straight edge student who's constantly working hard to please her father and Noah's a rough kid who has just jumped from one foster care to another over the years. Their lives are poles apart and yet they have more in common than anyone could ever guess - a dark past.
For the most part, this book was amazing - the writing, characters, story - everything about it was awesome. The synopsis makes the book sound like typical young adult contemporary novel with a deep plot when really, this is one of the most unique young adult contemporary books I've ever read.
Not a lot of female authors can pull of a romance novel with the male point of view being just as good as the female's but McGarry has done it. I loved being in Noah's head and the same goes for Echo; they're both fantastic characters with sizzling chemistry and just suck you in right from the very beginning. Katie McGarry's writing is intense and completely addictive.
There were times when I got annoyed but not enough for me to get mad at the book.
Some of the supporting characters - Luke and Grace - were frustrating while others were fun to read about and they made up for the former. I did, however, feel that every once in awhile the chapters lacked a smooth transition and the shift between them seemed a little abrupt/bumpy but that might just be me.
Despite the little flaws, I stick to my first thoughts. Pushing The Limits is fierce, magnetic and impossible to put down!

This book sounds amazing! My first YA contemporary romance is probably... Where She Went by Gayle Forman, as I just finished reading it a couple of days and I really like the ending.

Stephanie Perkins, Gayle Forman, Tara Kelly, Kirsten Hubbard, Jandy Nelson, Sarah Dessen, Laura Buzo, Holly Cupala, Jay Asher (13RW!)... There are SO many great ones out there, many new authors I wish to try out someday. Like Melina Marchetta, for one, though she's been around for a while and she gets recommended left and right. Thanks for the giveaway!
