Fated (The Soul Seekers, #1) by Alyson Noel (Interview + Giveaway)

Fated (The Soul Seekers #1) by Alyson Noel.
Audience/Genre : Young Adult/Paranormal.
Publication : May 22nd 2012 by St. Martin's Press.
The first book in a magnificent new series about a girl who can navigate between the worlds of the living and the dead by #1 New York Times bestselling author Alyson Noël.

Lately strange things have been happening to Daire Santos. Animals follow her, crows mock her, and glowing people appear out of nowhere. Worried that Daire is having a nervous breakdown, her mother packs her off to stay in the dusty plains of Enchantment, New Mexico with a grandmother she’s never met.

There she crosses paths with Dace, a gorgeous guy with unearthly blue eyes who she’s encountered before...but only in her dreams. And she’ll get to know her grandmother—a woman who recognizes Daire’s bizarre episodes for what they are. A call to her true destiny as a Soul Seeker, one who can navigate between the worlds of the living and the dead. Her grandmother immediately begins teaching her to harness her powers—but it’s an art that must be mastered quickly. Because Dace’s brother is an evil shape-shifter who’s out to steal her powers. Now Daire must embrace her fate as a Soul Seeker and find out if Dace is one guy she’s meant to be with...or if he’s allied with the enemy she’s destined to destroy.

I am thrilled to have Alyson Noel on my blog today! If you like epic fantasy/paranormal stories with a fantastic plot, then trust me, you guys want to read Fated. Here's my review, in case you want to read it. Lucky for us, St.Martin's is willing to giveaway (US only) a finished copy of Fated to one lucky person, so go on, read the interview and enter!

Instant manifestation would be spectacular!

You have three wishes, what would you wish for?

Peace, Love, & Abundance for everyone.

You're having a dinner party and you can invite 5 people, alive or dead, who are they?

My husband (he’d be the one cooking!), George Harrison, Leonardo da Vinci, Einstein, Oprah, Alan Ball

You favorite book of all time?

Franny & Zooey by JD Salinger

Boy meets Girl or Love Triangles?

Boy meets girl . . . love triangle ensues!

Mac or PC?

Mac

Is there a specific song that you think goes with Fated or Daire?

The song Into the Night by Carlos Santana & Chad Kroeger reminds me of Daire Santos so much that I think of it as her theme song! You can see the entire SOUL SEEKERS playlist here: http://www.alysonnoel.com/soul-seekers/fun.php

Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings?

At the risk of being judged, and I know that I will be the moment this gets out, I must confess that I haven’t read either of these series. Though I do own the entire HARRY POTTER boxed set—I’m just waiting for some free time so I can dig in!

Favorite quote from a book or movie?

“It was one of those days when it's a minute away from snowing and there's this electricity in the air, you can almost hear it. Right? And this bag was just dancing with me. Like a little kid begging me to play with it. For fifteen minutes. That's the day I realized that there was this entire life behind things, and this incredibly benevolent force that wanted me to know there was no reason to be afraid, ever. Video's a poor excuse, I know. But it helps me remember... I need to remember... Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world, I feel like I can't take it, and my heart is just going to cave in.” –American Beauty

That was fun! Once again, thanks to Alyson for taking the time out for this interview :) Now, the giveaway fun...

  9. I really appreciate this type of interview because it allows the reader to compare her/his likes and dislikes with those of the author. It gives a personal connection and makes the reader (at least me) more likely to want to read the book. And, yes, I am excited to read this book because, through reading the interview, I found some connections that Alyson and I have.

  26. I am really excited to read Fated! I am a bit nervous though at the same time, because I've heard really mixed things about her Immortals series but I picked up the first three because I think it sounds good. So I'm excited for this regardless of how I feel about Evermore, because I've read a lot of reviews saying it is a lot better than her previous works.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  34. There is no choice between Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. They are both equally compelling, awe-inspiring, mind-blowing, just plain WOW! I hope that Mrs. Noel gets around to reading them soon. I can't imagine not having the free time to be able to sit and read. I think I would go crazy. Truly, madly, deeply crazy. It is my escape, sometimes my happiness, sometime breath of fresh air. Thank goodness I never aspired to be famous. Too many good books out there screaming my name. I loved the interview. Alyson seems very down to earth and I appreciate her wishing for Peace, Love and Abundance. Best 3 wished ever!

Cannot wait for Fated. It looks unique (hallelujah!)Thanks so much for the wonderful giveaway!
