Blood Bound (Blood Bound #1) - Rachel Vincent

Blood Bound (Unbound, #1)Blood Bound by Rachel Vincent

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book isn't my first adult paranormal book, however, it is my first Rachel Vincent book. I came across Blood Bound as it was a 'Book of the Month' read in one of my Goodreads' Groups and it seemed interesting so I decided to start with this.

Bound by Blood, Condemned by Fate.

Liv is a highly skilled bloodtracker - one of the best - and exists in a world where blood means everything. Blood is the way to power, money, control, loyalty and anything else you can think of. It controls a persons will and choice.

When Liv's childhood friend's husband is murdered, she didn't have a choice but to help her get revenge. However, this meant that she had to work with her ex-boyfriend Cam, another powerful tracker, who is the love of her life but also the one person she can't have.
While facing every kind of danger, they have to deal with their unsettled feelings for each other.

This book is unique and adventurous, with a lot of twists & turns! Liv is a strong woman who has stayed that way despite all the bad things that she had to deal with. When you read about her and Cam, you get the feeling that they're the real deal.

However, while I loved Liv's character, somethings about Cam annoyed me. He seemed a little lost without her, maybe that's because he loves her that much but it made him weak. Also, Cam seemed a little stupid to me, he never thought ahead, never fully understood anything and I found it ridiculous that he managed to survive in the world he lived in with that kind of naiveté. Also, he had way to many secrets from the 'love of his life' . Sure he was afraid he'd lose her but to me, he seemed to be a coward. The only thing that had him going for me was his feelings for Liv - they felt genuine.

I don't want to ruin the plot so, with that I'll say - if you like fast-paced paranormal novels and don't mind a little darkness in them, then 'Blood Bound' is definitely one of the really good books for adults out there! I found the ending awesome and the last chapter alone made me feel twice the excitement for the next book! I can't wait to see how it all plays out!
